I’m reading a book by Kyle Idleman called Grace is Greater. He’s the author of the books Not a Fan and The End of Me. I love his writing. He gets down to my level and explains things in simple terms.
I like to highlight and write down quotes when I’m reading books like this. A couple of quotes I’ve come across so far:
- God’s grace is compelling when explained but irresistible when experienced
- Grace explained is necessary but grace experienced is essential
- When a broken, busted and wrecked life collides with Jesus, it’s a beautiful thing.
and my absolute favorite so far:
“The worst thing that could happen is that you spend your life trying to outrun God because you think He’s chasing you to collect what you owe—-when he’s really chasing you to give you what you could never afford.”
I’m only on Chapter 3 but as always with his books, I’m hooked. He has a way of drawing me in that not many authors can do…with the exception of my favorite fiction writer, Karen Kingsbury. 🙂 Her books are amazing!
God LOVES you! And he WANTS to give you eternal life. He’s not chasing you to force you to pay something you owe. He’s chasing you to give you something we can never earn on our own: GRACE!
