The Dreaded “S” Word

See the source imageDare I say it? It’s snowing here again. Oh how I wish it would stop! I’m so done with snow….at least for the rest of this winter. Maybe my attitude will change next season but for now I’m ready for the warmer weather. Not scorching hot, mind you, just warmer. Where I don’t have to wear a jacket.

And I can wear my beloved flip-flops! I practically live in those things the second it starts getting warm enough. Socks and shoes, no way. Flip flops all the way!

I won’t lie….the snow is very pretty coming down. It’s very pretty outside right now. I’m sitting at my desk watching the snow fall. But I just don’t want to get stuck in the house like we did after our winter storm a couple of weeks ago. That about drove me crazy with the claustrophobia! And I am definitely claustrophobic!

So I went to Lifeway today and found another Craig Groeschel book in the clearance section for $6.97! It’s called #Struggles. I’m looking forward to starting it. I’m currently reading Good Faith by David Kinnaman and Gabe Lyons right now so it’ll be a little while before I start it but I’m still excited. I love Craig Groeschel’s  writing!

I also bought Grace is Greater by Kyle Idleman on Audio. I have the book and I’ve already read it, it’s amazing. Now I get to listen to it in my car. 🙂

Verse of the day:

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.

John 10:10, NIV

What’s the weather like where you live?

What books are you currently reading?

  1. It’s freezing, and they say it will be snowing soon here too. Praying it changes because they first said snow by 3pm, then it was snow after 5. Now, they say after 10 until 3or 4 am. I’m down on the coast. We don’t do well with snow :):):) My mom is a little over 2 hours away, she said it’s coming down fast there. I pray you don’t get stuck inside, and we don’t either!

    1. I’m in Virginia. We don’t do well with snow either, lol. Would you believe they canceled school today even though the snow didn’t start until the afternoon? I get the whole being cautious thing but they could have at least gone to school and gotten out early! LOL. But that’s what we do in Virginia. We freak out!

      1. It’s been snowing since around 3:30 or 4:00 and it hasn’t stopped. We’re only supposed to be getting 2-4 inches. I’m thinking it might be more if it doesn’t let up soon! lol

  2. Flipflops all the way! **high five** And when it gets cold, I rebel by wearing toe socks so I can still wear the flipflops. 😂

We have snow too! And because it’s still a powdery consistency, I can’t make a snowman. Or snow-something. 😄

Nice book choices. I haven’t heard of them but they sound great! 🙂 To answer your question, I’ve been reading so much. This morning, I read half of Sign Of The Beaver by Elizabeth George Speare (yes, it’s a children’s book – I still have a fondness for them) and a few pages of Agony and Glory of The Cross by Charles Hodges Jr. And I just finished The Lost Art Of True Beauty which was AMAZING (I reviewed it here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2207584920) among other books. I’ve been reading like crazy this year so far. 😅

    1. Flip flops are the only way to go! LOL.
The snow here is slowly going away, thank goodness. This snow didn’t last nearly as long as the last snow did.
I don’t see anything wrong with reading children’s books. I still read YA books and I haven’t been a young adult in quite a few years, haha!

      1. Yes! 😄

Did you get to make anything out of the snow before it started to go away? I spent an hour outside a couple of days ago when the snow was finally workable and went a little nuts. 😂

😀 Me too! Haha, I’m in my 20’s and still like children’s books and YA. I also write in those genres.

      2. Unfortunately no. They have been giving me some trouble since way before I fell so the fall didn’t help matters. I need to go to my doctor and get them checked out. 😔
