Thought For The Day

One of my favorite verses is found in John 16:33

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

This world can be a scary place.

Terrorist attacks.

Shootings.

Terminal illnesses.

The list can go on and on.

But we can find rest in Jesus. We can find peace in Him. He tells us that we will have troubles in life but we are to look to Him and remember that He has overcome the world! One day He is coming back for us and we will be with Him for eternity!

He promises never to leave or forsake us. In Deuteronomy 31:6, it says:

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you

He will be with us wherever we go!

  1. Precious words of encouragement my dear sister. Thank you so very much for sharing your thoughts but more importantly God’s word that promises never to return void Isaiah 55:11.
A scripture that I dearly love is Jeremiah 9:23-24 “This is what the Lord says: Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight, Declares the Lord.” This is the one, and the only thing that we can boast in and that is that we know the Lord. I don’t believe that this is to be taken in the sense of bragging like the world does but in the sense of rejoicing over who the Lord is, not in boasting over who we are.
Blessings and love to you, Gary
