What Have You Been Reading?

So if you are on Goodreads then you know about the reading challenge that is posted every year. You pick a certain amount of books you want to read for the year. One year my goal was 75 and I ended up reading 100! The year after that I didnt participate, LOL.

Anyways, this year I decided on a goal of 50 books. I’ve already read 11 so I just might pass my goal again. Then again, I could fall into a reading slump. Who knows?

I have discovered a new (well, new to me that is,) genre that I can’t get enough of! Historical Fiction, particularly the World War 2 era. I’m loving it! I’ve become hooked on the storylines, the characters, the history, etc. It’s all so good!

Books I’ve read: The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, The Beantown Girls by Jane Healey, The Flight Girls by Noelle Salazar and The Orphan Sisters by Shirley Dickson. They were ALL so very good! I especially enjoyed The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah.

Currently I’m reading Dear Mrs. Bird by AJ Pearce. I’m having a little bit of a hard time getting into this one but I’m going to press on.

The next book on my list is The Huntress by Kate Quinn.

Have you read any of these books?

What is your favorite genre to read? Any recommendations?

Update on my health: I saw my endocrinologist this past Monday. I have to have another MRI of my head because my prolactin levels are increasing, despite being on medication. It’s most likely my pituitary tumor has returned.

My fibromyalgia is getting slightly worse. The pain is just unreal sometimes. I talked to my primary care doctor about it and he has increased my medication from 200 to 225 twice a day.

I have talked to my managers at work and I am going to be lowering my hours for the time being, at least until I can get my health back under control. I’ll be working 4 hour shifts a few days a week. Honestly, that’s all I can do. I’ll have to be frugal with my money but my health comes first. I need to get it under control.

Thank you for all your prayers and comments. I really do appreciate it. 🙂
