“Glorious Day” by Kristian Stanfill/Passion is so amazing. I LOVE this song.
I was buried beneath my shame. But in God’s loving grace and mercy, He CALLED OUT TO ME and I RAN OUT OF THAT GRAVE!
No longer am I held back by my guilt and shame. No longer am I a lost sinner! I am a CHILD OF GOD and I am FREE!
All of us want our mistakes to be hidden. We want our past to be….our past! However, according to Kyle Idleman in his book Grace is Greater, “To fully embrace God’s grace is to fully embrace our own NEED for that grace.”
We must own up to our mistakes and realize that God’s grace covers it all! We are HIS children now and nothing, I repeat, nothing can separate us from Him.
38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:38-39
I was buried beneath my shame Who could carry that kind of weight? It was my tomb ‘Til I met You
I was breathing, but not alive All my failures I tried to hide It was my tomb ‘Til I met You
You called my name Then I ran out of that grave Out of the darkness Into Your glorious day You called my name And I ran out of that grave Out of the darkness Into Your glorious day
Now Your mercy has saved my soul Now Your freedom is all that I know The old made new Jesus, when I met You, whoa, what a day
When you called my name And I ran out of that grave Out of the darkness Into Your glorious day You called my name Then I ran out of that grave Out of the darkness Into Your glorious day
I needed rescue My sin was heavy But chains break at the weight of Your glory I needed shelter I was an orphan But You call me a citizen of Heaven When I was broken You were my healing Now Your love is the air that I’m breathing I have a future My eyes are open
‘Cause when you called my name I ran out of that grave Out of the darkness Into Your glorious day You called my name And I ran out of that grave Out of the darkness Into Your glorious day
