“Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” James 1:2-4 (NLT)
“So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold–though your faith is far more precious than mere gold So when your faith remains strong, through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world. 1 Peter 1:6-7(NLT)
I’m tired, you all. Physically, Mentally, Emotionally….life has a way of doing that sometimes.
The struggle is real. I’m so tired of all these doctors appointments. I just want to be a healthy 38 year old. Is that too much to ask?
I texted my friend yesterday….”You know? I realize that all these trials I’m going through, as frustrating as they are, are God’s way of teaching me to lean on Him. I really feel this is my “thorn in the flesh.” It’s to help me grow closer to Him. Could He heal me? Absolutely! Will He? That remains to be seen…… James 1:2-3 has given me more comfort lately. That and John 16:33. Life has its struggles but I know that I’m doing life alone. I read these verses in a different light. Yes, I’m struggling right now but God has not forgotten me. Like you said He is not surprised by any of this. My attitude towards things has drastically changed and I can only thank God for that!”
We aren’t promised a perfect life. Trials will come our way. It’s how we respond to them that separates us from everyone else.
I am asking you, my readers, to please pray for me as I undergo more tests. I am being referred to a neurosurgeon to make plans to drain this syrinx that is on my spine. Also, I’m being sent to have an EMG study done as well.
Silver lining though!!! This girl is getting dentures!!! I had my impressions done and on September 1 I will be getting my teeth extracted (NOT looking forward to that, LOL) and then after a few weeks for my gums to heal they will be fitting me for my dentures!
The Lord really is good!
Count it all joy!
I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33
