It really is a great post on the subject! I have family members who don’t believe that mental illness exists. They think it’s all in my head. (which…is true but not in the way they are thinking…)
I had a coworker ask me to explain what goes on during a breakdown and as I was describing it I could tell she was really and truly listening to me. It is THAT reaction that helps chip away at the stigma surrounding mental illness. She really wanted to know so she could gain some insight.

That’s nice she listened like that. My own wife has said some hurtful things to me over the years. I forgive her. I just pray she would be compassionate and understanding. It really hurts when people who are supposed to love you end up demeaning you and shaming you instead. Prayers and blessings to you, sister.
