Battle for My Mind

Satan is constantly whispering in my ear, “You’re not good enough. You can’t do this. Just give up now.”

My inner voice responds to him “Shut up. You know nothing. Go away.”

Then it goes quiet. Nothing. No voices for a few minutes.

Then comes the voice that I have grown to know and love. The small still voice that is the Lord’s. He tells me I AM good enough. I AM able to do this. Don’t give up.”

I know what voice I need to listen to. It’s obvious. But Satan’s voice then comes roaring like a lion. It’s his voice versus God’s voice. They’re battling for my mind.

It’s a never-ending battle.

A battle for my mind, my heart, my soul.

Who will win?

Who will I LET win?

It’s up to me, really.

Who do I choose? God or Satan?

Heaven or Hell?

I choose God

I choose Heaven

But there are days where my actions clearly choose the opposite.

There are days I give in to temptation. I listen to Satan’s voice.

I forget momentarily who I am.

A child of the King.

I’ve let Him down once again.

But here’s the beauty of it. He will always take me back! He waits for me with arms wide open when I realize the error of my ways. When I realize how foolish I’ve been. When I realize that that missing piece in my heart is just a prayer away.

I’m a bipolar Christian with a desire to bring others to Christ. To help them see the error of their ways. To help them see that the missing piece in their heart is just a prayer away.

Being bipolar and a Christian is definitely not easy. I struggle daily with racing thoughts and distractions. Satan knows my weaknesses and uses them against me. I try my best to cling to God through these times but sometimes my fleshly desires kick in and I let go and try to go my way.

But then I hear His voice, ever so softly, urging me to return to Him. To reclaim the gift He gave me. The gift of salvation.

Redemption for my sins.

He loves me with an agape love. An unconditional love. An everlasting love. His love never fails. Is never rude. Is never harsh. He loves me.

Despite my failures

Despite my shortcomings.

Lord, it is my desire to please you. To live a life that glorifies You. It is my desire to bring others to you. Help me to stop being so scared. To stop being….well, me! You created me. You love me. You know what I can do, even if I don’t.

Lord, you have great plans for me. Point me in the right direction. I want to do Your will. I’m tired of trying to do it all on my own. Especially when we both know I can’t do it all on my own. I need You and I’m begging You to help me cling to You throughout all the hardships I am going through. You are teaching me something, Lord. Help me to understand what it is.

And He loves YOU just as much! He loves YOU the same way.

Won’t you come to Him?

He Knows My Name

He calls me chosen, free, forgiven, wanted, child of the King, His forever, held and treasured, I am loved. I don't need my name in lights, I'm famous in my Father's eyes. Francesca Battistelli lyrics, print for Abby's room?I’ve always loved this song but I’d never seen the video for it until today. I strongly encourage you to watch it. It’s about 12 minutes long but it’s totally worth it.

He Knows My Name

Spent today in a conversation
In the mirror face to face with
Somebody less than perfect
I wouldn’t choose me first if
I was looking for a champion
In fact, I’d understand if
You picked everyone before me
But that’s just not my story
True to who You are
You saw my heart
And made
Something out of nothing
I don’t need my name in lights
I’m famous in my Father’s eyes
Make no mistake
He knows my name
I’m not living for applause
I’m already so adored
It’s all His stage
He knows my name oh, oh,
He knows my name oh, oh
I’m not meant to just stay quiet
I’m meant to be a lion
I’ll roar beyond a song
With every moment that I’ve got
True to who You are
You saw my heart
And made
Something out of nothing
I don’t need my name in lights
I’m famous in my Father’s eyes
Make no mistake
He knows my name
I’m not living for applause
I’m already so adored
It’s all His stage
He knows my name oh, oh,
He knows my name oh, oh
He calls me chosen, free forgiven, wanted, child of the King
His forever, held in treasure
I am loved
I don’t need my name in lights
I’m famous in my Father’s eyes
I don’t need my name in lights
I’m famous in my Father’s eyes
Make no mistake
He knows my name
I’m not living for applause
I’m already so adored
It’s all His stage
He knows my name
He knows my name oh, oh
He knows my name

Happy Single’s Awareness Day!

EditYou know, there was a time where I would get so depressed about not having a special someone on Valentine’s Day.

Then it dawned on me. I have the BEST Valentine in Jesus! He loves me so much and has never left me despite the many times I’ve failed Him and tried to push Him away.

He loves me so much that He sent His only Son to die for me so that I wouldn’t die in sin. My sins are paid for. What more could a person want?

So if you’re single this Valentine’s Day just remember….there IS someone out there who loves you unconditionally. His name is Jesus and He longs to have a relationship with you. 🙂

And don’t forget…TOMORROW is half priced candy day! 🙂

God’s Love

Amen.
I’ll never fully understand God’s love for me. I fail him time and time again. But He continually pours out His grace upon me. Little ole me. I don’t deserve it.

None of us do. Yet he longs to have a relationship with us. He loves us with an agape love. An unconditional love. That love will never change.

He longs for his children to come to Him. He won’t force you by any means. He gives you the choice whether or not to choose Him.

How can anyone refuse a love like His?

Romans 12:9

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.

Romans 12:9

We are called to love others as Christ loves us. Seems easier said than done, right? Some people are just really difficult to love. Maybe they’ve hurt you so many times in the past that loving them seems impossible. But Christ tells us that we are to love them. He loves them so we must love them.

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

John 13:34

We are commanded to love others.

So if you are having trouble loving certain people (and I’m including myself in this) just turn to Jesus who can help you. The closer you grow and walk with Him, the more His love will shine through you towards others.

Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. – Romans 12:9 ESV #Scripture #Bible #BibleVerse #GodsWord #FCinspiration #Love #GodsLove

*Reblog* Reasons Some Will Not Come To Christ

Excellent points made in this article!

A Ruby In The Rough

This article struck a chord with me since I know some young people who will not come to Christ because they do not wish to leave their sins. May God grant them true repentance before it is too  late.

Reasons Why Some Will Not Come to Christ

Albert N. Martin

Jerusalem was buzzing with activity during one of the high Jewish feast days. And now at the pool of Bethesda the controversial young rabbi from Galilee had astounded everyone by healing a man paralyzed for thirty-eight years! But instead of rejoicing, the Jewish leaders first confronted the healed man for carrying his bed on the Sabbath—this was work, they said, and God had forbidden all work on the Sabbath—and then condemned Jesus for His “work” of healing on the Sabbath day! Chapter Five of the Gospel of John records Jesus’ simple response: “My Father has been working until now, and…

Thankful Thursday

Today I would like to just take the time to express how thankful I am for my salvation. My life before God was awful. I hated my life and was just one depressed person.

I still suffer from depression but with God in my life, I am able to handle it so much better!

I have so many reasons I could complain and be down about but God has shown me that He has great plans for me and if I just keep my eyes on Him, He will take care of me.

Hebrews 12:1-2 tells us,

Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Romans 8:18

Verse of the Week: Romans 8:18... one of the most comforting verses in the Bible to me... no matter what I go through in this life on earth, I know that the suffering here cannot begin to compare with the glory of heaven!!! Heaven is coming one day and all suffering will come to an eternal end! And eternal life with my Savior begins!!! Praise God!!!I love this verse and what it says! Yes, we suffer many hardships and painful circumstances but if we remain faithful to God, if we keep our focus on Him, we WILL one day be with Him in glory and guess what?

Our pain will be gone! Our physical pain, our mental pain….it will all be gone! God has promised us this!

Are you suffering right now? Do you feel lost with no direction in sight? Turn to Jesus! He will take care of you!

God loves you and desires for you to come to Him. He won’t force you, however. The decision is yours. I can’t make the decision for you, no one else can. You have to choose to come to Christ on your own.

My Help

Image result for psalm 121My devotional reading this morning was found in Psalm 121. This is one of my favorite psalms.

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip—
    he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
    will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you—
    the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
    nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm—
    he will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going
    both now and forevermore.

Knowing that the Lord will always be there with me gives me great comfort. I’m not alone even when I feel the most alone. He will never leave me.

You’re not alone so don’t try to do life on your own. Rather, rejoice in the earthly and eternal care of God as demonstrated in the life, death, resurrection and ascension on the Lord Jesus Christ. And whatever the next steps, take them with His help.
