People, Get Ready!

Image result for matthew 24:36

In Matthew 24:36-44, we read that absolutely no one but the Father knows when Christ is coming back. Not even the Son. He will return when we least expect it. We need to be ready!

My heart aches for those who don’t know Christ yet. He could come back at any moment and the thought of losing my unsaved loved ones to hell just breaks my heart. The seed has been planted in their lives but they just won’t take root. Their hearts are hardening with each passing day and I’m scared they are going to die without Christ in their lives.

So please pray that I might be a better witness to them. That they will see Jesus in me and want to know Jesus as their own.

Live as though Christ will return TODAY!

People, get ready! It will happen in a blink of the eye!

Do you know Christ as your personal Savior?

People Get Ready, Jesus is Coming–Crystal Lewis

Lord I’m ready now
I’m waiting for Your triumphant return
You’re coming so soon
This world has nothing for me
I find my peace and joy solely in You
Only in You
I want the world to see that
You’re alive and living well in me
Let me be a part of the harvest
For the days are few
He’s coming soon

People get ready Jesus is coming
Soon we’ll be going home
People get ready Jesus is coming
To take from the world His own

There will be a day
When we will be divided right and left
For those who know Him
And those who do not know
Those who know Him well
Will meet Him in the air
Hallelujah
God is with us
Those who do not know
They will hear “Depart, I knew you not”
For my friends you see
There will be a day when well be counted
So know Him well, know Him well

Need You Now

Related imageI watched “I’m Not Ashamed” yesterday for like the 4th or 5th time. And as always, I bawled like a baby at the end.
I don’t know why I’m so drawn to Rachel Scott’s story but it really intrigues me.
In the movie there is a song called  “Need You Now (How Many Times)” by Plumb.  It’s a great song.  I urge you to listen to it when you can. And if you get a chance, watch “I’m Not Ashamed” It’s a great testimony to who Rachel was and what she stood for.
It will be 19 years on April 20th that Rachel went to be with her Lord and Savior. Her story continues to inspire many, myself included. Her love for Christ was evident. Here is an excerpt from her journals that were published not long after her death. She wanted to be different from her peers. A God fearing Christian. Not a “worldly Christian”Image result for rachel scott journals
Reading this posts the question: What kind of Christian do I want to be?
Well, everybody’s got a story to tell
And everybody’s got a wound to be healed
I want to believe there’s beauty here
‘Cause oh, I get so tired of holding on
I can’t let go, I can’t move on
I want to believe there’s meaning here
How many times have you heard me cry out
“God please take this”?
How many times have you given me strength to
Just keep breathing?
Oh I need you
God, I need you now.
Standing on a road I didn’t plan
Wondering how I got to where I am
I’m trying to hear that still small voice
I’m trying to hear above the noise
How many times have you heard me cry out
God please take this?
How many times have you given me strength to
Just keep breathing?
Oh I need you
God, I need you now.
Though I walk,
Though I walk through the shadows
And I, I am so afraid
Please stay, please stay right beside me
With every single step I take
How many times have you heard me cry out?
And how many times have you given me strength?
How many times have you heard me cry out
“God please take this”?
How many times have you given me strength to
Just keep breathing?
Oh I need you
God, I need you now.
I need you now
Oh I need you
God, I need you now.
I need you now
I need you now

Voice of Truth

Woman in jeans and shirt sitting on coastline rocks at Fistral Beach
Photo by Felix Russell-Saw on Unsplash
Satan will do his level best to get you to listen to him. He will whisper in your ear, “You’re not good enough. You can’t do this.”
Satan is a liar!
But there is a Voice that will overpower Satan’s if you just let it.  And that’s the Voice of Jesus Christ.  The Voice of Truth.
Don’t let Satan drag you down. Fall into the arms of Jesus. He won’t steer you wrong.
Oh what I would do to have
The kind of faith it takes
To climb out of this boat I’m in
Onto the crashing waves
To step out of my comfort zone
Into the realm of the unknown where Jesus is
And He’s holding out His hand
But the waves are calling out my name
And they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times
I’ve tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
Time and time again. “Boy, you’ll never win!”
“You’ll never win!”
But the voice of truth tells me a different story
The voice of truth says, “Do not be afraid!”
The voice of truth says, “This is for My glory”
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth
Oh what I would do to have
The kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant
With just a sling and a stone
Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors
Shaking in their armor
Wishing they’d have had the strength to stand
But the giant’s calling out my name
And he laughs at me
Reminding me of all the times
I’ve tried before and failed
The giant keeps on telling me
Time and time again. “Boy you’ll never win!”
“You’ll never win!”
But the voice of truth tells me a different story
The voice of truth says, “Do not be afraid!”
The voice of truth says, “This is for My glory”
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth
But the stone was just the right size
To put the giant on the ground
And the waves they don’t seem so high
From on top of them lookin’ down
I will soar with the wings of eagles
When I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus
Singing over me
But the voice of truth tells me a different story
The voice of truth says, “Do not be afraid!”
The voice of truth says, “This is for My glory”
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

Fix My Eyes

Image result for fix my eyes on jesusHave you ever just stopped and listened to this song? I hear it all the time but never truly paid attention to it until today. The message is a powerful one. We need to fix our eyes on our Creator who gave us life and longs for a relationship with us.
He loves us that much! So much that He sent His only Son to die for us. To die so that we might have life! That’s LOVE, y’all!
I especially love the line, “Find faith in the battle, Stand tall but above it all, Fix my eyes on You.”
Life is going to hand us trials and tribulations. We’re going to meet hardships throughout our life. But through it all, we must fix our eyes on Jesus! He knows what’s best for us and He is the only One who can get you through life’s trials. You may think you can handle it all on your own but you can’t. Only Jesus can and will carry you through life’s storms if you will just surrender to Him!
We can be confident that if Jesus did not leave us in HIS darkest hour, He won’t leave us in OUR darkest hours.
J. D Greear, Not God Enough
So when condemnation whispers “You are finished”, we need only look to the cross to hear Jesus’s triumphant answer: “No! IT is finished!”

Stand face to face with the younger me
All of the mistakes
All of the heartbreak
Here’s what I’d do differently
I’d love like I’m not scared
Give when it’s not fair
Live life for another
Take time for a brother
Fight for the weak ones
Speak out for freedom
Find faith in the battle
Stand tall but above it all
Fix my eyes on you, on you
I learned the lines and talked the talk (Everybody knows that, everybody knows that)
But the road less traveled is hard to walk (Everybody knows that, everybody knows)
It takes a soldier
Who knows his orders
To walk the walk I’m supposed to walk
And love like I’m not scared
Give when it’s not fair
Live life for another
Take time for a brother
Fight for the weak ones
Speak out for freedom
Find faith in the battle
Stand tall but above it all
Fix my eyes on you, on you
The things of Earth are dimming
In the light of Your glory and grace
I’ll set my sights upon Heaven
I’m fixing my eyes on you, on you
I’m fixing my eyes on you, on you
I’m fixing my eyes
Love like I’m not scared
Give when it’s not fair
Live life for another
Take time for a brother
Fight for the weak ones
Speak out for freedom
Find faith in the battle
Stand tall but above it all
Fix my eyes on you, on you
I fix my eyes on you, on you
I fix my eyes on you, on you

Can They See Jesus?

Live in such a way that those who know you, but don't know God, will come to know God because they know you.

Do people see Jesus in you?

Do They See Jesus in Me
Joy Williams
Is the face that I see in the mirror
The one I want others to see
Do I show in the way that I walk in my life
The love that You’ve shown me
My heart’s desire is to be like You
In all that I do, all I am
Do they see Jesus in me
Do they recognize Your face
Do I communicate Your love and Your grace
Do I reflect who You are
In the way I choose to be
Do they see Jesus in me
It’s amazing that You’d ever use me
But use me the way You will
Help me to hold out a heart of compassionate grace
A heart that You’re spirit fills
May I show forgiveness and mercy
The same way you’ve shown it to me
Do they see Jesus in me
Do they recognize Your face
Do I communicate Your love and Your grace
Do I reflect who You are
In the way I choose to be
Do they see Jesus in me
Now I want to show all the world who You are
The reason I live and breathe
So You’ll be the One that they see
When they see me
Do they see Jesus in me
Do they recognize Your face
Do I communicate Your love and Your grace
Do I reflect who You are
In the way I choose to be
Do they see Jesus in me

Thy Will

It’s Saturday! Time for some song lyrics!

This song, Thy Will by Hillary Scott, has a lot of meaning.

So many times we just don’t understand why God allows things to happen. But God has a plan to use bad things for good. We just have to wait on Him.

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways when they carry out their wicked schemes.
Psalm 37:7

Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God.
I Corinthians 4:5

Waiting has never been one of my strong suits. I get impatient very easily. (I’m slowly working on it though. Patience IS one of the fruits of the Spirit, after all.)

For instance, I am currently waiting on something that I’ve been praying about for quite some time now. I have reached the point where I’m getting impatient and want the answer NOW! But God has His reasons for not answering it just yet. I am learning to accept that in HIS time I will have my answer.

I came across some verses that really opened my eyes this morning. It’s found in the book of Lamentations 3:24-26

I say to myself, the Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for Him. The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him. It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.

The Lord is all I will ever need!

Thy Will

Hillary Scott-video

I’m so confused
I know I heard you loud and clear
So, I followed through
Somehow I ended up here
I don’t wanna think
I may never understand
That my broken heart is a part of your plan
When I try to pray
All I’ve got is hurt and these four words

Thy will be done
Thy will be done
Thy will be done

I know you’re good
But this don’t feel good right now
And I know you think
Of things I could never think about
It’s hard to count it all joy
Distracted by the noise
Just trying to make sense
Of all your promises
Sometimes I gotta stop
Remember that you’re God
And I am not
So

Thy will be done
Thy will be done
Thy will be done
Like a child on my knees all that comes to me is
Thy will be done
Thy will be done
Thy will

I know you see me
I know you hear me, Lord
Your plans are for me
Goodness you have in store
I know you hear me
I know you see me, Lord
Your plans are for me
Good news you have in store

So, thy will be done
Thy will be done
Thy will be done
Like a child on my knees all that comes to me is
Thy will be done
Thy will be done
Thy will be done
I know you see me
I know you hear me, Lord

Fight the Good Fight

I find this song, Battles by the Afters,  to be very fitting for me right now. And I’m sure it’s fitting for a lot of you as well.  The Lord is constantly fighting our battles for us. It’s such a good reminder.

Satan is always going to be on the warpath, constantly whispering in our ears, “You’re not good enough. Just give it up, you’ll never win.” Little does HE know.

We know better, right? Because with God on our side, we will be victorious! There is coming a day when Satan will be banished to spend eternity in hell and WE will be spending our eternity with our Creator, who loves us and fights for us.

I long for the day when I see Jesus face to face! To hear Him say “Well done my good and faithful servant.”

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him
James 1:12

We must continue to fight the good fight!

Battles

The Afters-video

This current is trying to wreck me
Like castles of sand, castles of sand
My fear, like an enemy army
Is marching again, but I’m making a stand

You surround me on every side
Your love is my armor, I fear no evil
Darkness runs from Your light
So I won’t be afraid, I won’t be afraid

You’re going before me and oceans are parting
You’re fighting my battles
When my feet are failing and my heart is shaking
You’re fighting my battles

You’re fighting my battles
You’re fighting my battles
You’re fighting my battles

Time after time, You’re my refuge
You heal every scar, You’re guarding my heart
Your promise, the hope that I cling to
My rescue, my friend, You come rushing in

And surround me on every side
Your love is my armor, I fear no evil
Darkness runs from Your light
So I won’t be afraid, I won’t be afraid

You’re going before me and oceans are parting
You’re fighting my battles
When my feet are failing and my heart is shaking
You’re fighting my battles

You’re fighting my battles
You’re fighting my battles
You’re fighting my battles

You’re fighting my battles
You’re fighting my battles
You’re fighting my battles

In my weakness, You are strong
Every trouble, You have overcome
In my weakness, You are strong
Every trouble, You have overcome
In my weakness, You are strong
Every trouble, You have overcome
You have overcome

You’re going before me and oceans are parting
You’re fighting my battles
When my feet are failing and my heart is shaking
You’re fighting my battles

Grace Wins

Grace Wins - Matthew WestAnother song that really speaks to me is Grace Wins by Matthew West. My favorite line is definitely “But I’m living proof grace wins every time.”

None of us deserves God’s grace. We’re sinners, each and every one of us. But God loves us so much that He couldn’t bear us dying in our sins so He sent His one and only Son to die in our place.

Grace Wins
Matthew West-video

In my weakest moment I see You
Shaking Your head in disgrace
I can read the disappointment
Written all over Your face

Here come those whispers in my ear
Saying, “who do you think you are?”
Looks like you’re on your own from here
‘Cause grace could never reach that far

But in the shadow of that shame
Beat down by all the blame
I hear You call my name saying it’s not over
And my heart starts to beat so loud now
Drowning out the doubt
I’m down, but I’m not out

There’s a war between guilt and grace
And they’re fighting for a sacred space
But I’m living proof
Grace wins every time
No more lying down in death’s defeat
Now I’m rising up in victory
Singing, hallelujah
Grace wins every time

Words can’t describe the way it feels
When mercy floods a thirsty soul
The broke inside begins to heal
And grace returns what guilty stole

And in the shadow of that shame
Beat down by all the blame
I hear You call my name saying it’s not over
And my heart starts to beat so loud now
Drowning out the doubt
I’m down, but I’m not out

There’s a war between guilt and grace
And they’re fighting for a sacred space
But I’m living proof
Grace wins every time
No more lying down in death’s defeat
Now I’m rising up in victory
Singing, hallelujah
Grace wins every time

For the prodigal son
Grace wins
For the woman at the well
Grace wins
For the blind man and the beggar
Grace wins
For always and forever
Grace wins
For the lost out on the streets
Grace wins
For the worst part of you and me
Grace wins
For the thief on the cross
Grace wins
For a world that is lost

There’s a war between guilt and grace
And they’re fighting for a sacred space
But I’m living proof
Grace wins every time
No more lying down in death’s defeat
Now I’m rising up in victory
Singing, hallelujah
Grace wins every time, every time
Yeah, I’m living proof
Grace wins every time

He Knows My Name

He calls me chosen, free, forgiven, wanted, child of the King, His forever, held and treasured, I am loved. I don't need my name in lights, I'm famous in my Father's eyes. Francesca Battistelli lyrics, print for Abby's room?I’ve always loved this song but I’d never seen the video for it until today. I strongly encourage you to watch it. It’s about 12 minutes long but it’s totally worth it.

He Knows My Name

Spent today in a conversation
In the mirror face to face with
Somebody less than perfect
I wouldn’t choose me first if
I was looking for a champion
In fact, I’d understand if
You picked everyone before me
But that’s just not my story
True to who You are
You saw my heart
And made
Something out of nothing
I don’t need my name in lights
I’m famous in my Father’s eyes
Make no mistake
He knows my name
I’m not living for applause
I’m already so adored
It’s all His stage
He knows my name oh, oh,
He knows my name oh, oh
I’m not meant to just stay quiet
I’m meant to be a lion
I’ll roar beyond a song
With every moment that I’ve got
True to who You are
You saw my heart
And made
Something out of nothing
I don’t need my name in lights
I’m famous in my Father’s eyes
Make no mistake
He knows my name
I’m not living for applause
I’m already so adored
It’s all His stage
He knows my name oh, oh,
He knows my name oh, oh
He calls me chosen, free forgiven, wanted, child of the King
His forever, held in treasure
I am loved
I don’t need my name in lights
I’m famous in my Father’s eyes
I don’t need my name in lights
I’m famous in my Father’s eyes
Make no mistake
He knows my name
I’m not living for applause
I’m already so adored
It’s all His stage
He knows my name
He knows my name oh, oh
He knows my name

In many mighty ways
