The Dreaded “S” Word

See the source imageDare I say it? It’s snowing here again. Oh how I wish it would stop! I’m so done with snow….at least for the rest of this winter. Maybe my attitude will change next season but for now I’m ready for the warmer weather. Not scorching hot, mind you, just warmer. Where I don’t have to wear a jacket.

And I can wear my beloved flip-flops! I practically live in those things the second it starts getting warm enough. Socks and shoes, no way. Flip flops all the way!

I won’t lie….the snow is very pretty coming down. It’s very pretty outside right now. I’m sitting at my desk watching the snow fall. But I just don’t want to get stuck in the house like we did after our winter storm a couple of weeks ago. That about drove me crazy with the claustrophobia! And I am definitely claustrophobic!

So I went to Lifeway today and found another Craig Groeschel book in the clearance section for $6.97! It’s called #Struggles. I’m looking forward to starting it. I’m currently reading Good Faith by David Kinnaman and Gabe Lyons right now so it’ll be a little while before I start it but I’m still excited. I love Craig Groeschel’s  writing!

I also bought Grace is Greater by Kyle Idleman on Audio. I have the book and I’ve already read it, it’s amazing. Now I get to listen to it in my car. 🙂

Verse of the day:

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.

The Snow is Pretty but…..

IMG_1116.jpg…..I’m going out of my mind here! There’s only so much that I can do in the house! I can’t really get out in the snow because I don’t have the proper boots to go out in the snow plus my knees are giving me a fit and I don’t trust myself to be stable out in the snow.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the snow! But I tend to forget about the cabin fever that sets in after awhile.

See the source imageI’m currently reading Weird by Craig Groeschel, as you all know if you’ve been reading my chapter by chapter reviews on it. But I also reading a book called The Long Game, which is book 2 in the Fixer series. I checked both books out the other day from the library and read the first book in 2 days. It’s a YA series but it’s really good! I just started the second book today. The books are by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. I’ve never heard of her but apparently she has a slew of books out there. I can’t wait to start reading them!

In case you are interested in the series, here’s a synopsis of the first book, The Fixer:

When sixteen-year-old Tess Kendrick is sent to live with her older sister, Ivy, she has no idea that the infamous Ivy Kendrick is Washington D.C.’s #1 “fixer,” known for making politicians’ scandals go away for a price. No sooner does Tess enroll at Hardwicke Academy than she unwittingly follows in her sister’s footsteps and becomes D.C.’s premier high school fixer, solving problems for elite teens.

Secrets pile up as each sister lives a double life…until their worlds come crashing together and Tess finds herself in the middle of a conspiracy with one of her classmates and a client of Ivy’s. Suddenly, there is much more on the line than good grades, money, or politics, and the price for this fix might be more than Tess is willing to pay.

Usually I can predict endings to books but not this one! Barnes has a way with words that had me guessing until the very end!

Snowmageddon 2018

IMG_1110.jpgLook how pretty! This first picture was taken through the window looking at my mom’s grapevine! The snow is still coming down!

It’s not supposed to taper off until around 11, I believe. I’m waiting on my nephew to get over here so I can get some pictures of him playing in it. 🙂

Can you tell I love the snow? LOL. Here in Virginia, we don’t get tons of snow very often… anytime we get a decent amount I get so very excited!

We haven’t measured to see exactly how much we’ve gotten so far because the winds are so bad that it’s causing drifts.

IMG_1108.jpgThere’s just something magical about the snow and the way it causes everything to look so peaceful. It’s so quiet right now.

So how is your day going?

Is it snowing where you live?

How do you feel about the snow?

Verse of the day:

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give you to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

John 14:27 (ESV)

Winter Storm Grayson

Seriously, when did we start naming the winter storms?? Well, it hasn’t started snowing yet but it’s coming!

No automatic alt text available. And I’m so excited! I live in the purple shaded area of the map! We’re about to get some serious snow! You may laugh at me if you’re from somewhere that sees way more snow than this but I don’t care. This is a lot of snow! I can’t wait for it to come down!

There’s something about snow that just puts me in the greatest mood! Everything seems so peaceful afterwards. Things are so quiet. It’s gorgeous! I absolutely love snow!

I will definitely post pictures tomorrow! It’s not supposed to get really heavy until after 9 or 10pm so when I wake up in the morning it’s going to be so pretty!
