You see, we were born sinners. Because of Eve’s transgression in the Garden of Eden we became marked. We became scarred. We became sinners. ALL of us have sinned! In Romans 3:23 it says “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
What’s the punishment for sin? Death. In Romans 6:23 it says “For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD!”
Christ died in our place so we could have eternal life. Romans 5:8 says “But God commended His love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
So what do you and I have to do? How do we avoid eternal damnation? Easy. Believe and Confess. Romans 10:9-10, 13 says That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised Him from the dead thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation…for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved!”
